Fright Night 3D (2011)

Fright Night 3d is a remake of a 1980s film of the same name. It is about a kid Charlie(Anton Yelchin) spying on his new neighbor Jerry(Colin Farrell). Jerry turns out to be a vampire and I mean a real vampire. This guy just wants to eat you. You won't see no shining vamps here. This has everything a horror movie needs it has great scares, some of the best suspense i have seen a long time, and if you are a fan of gore it has a good amount of that too. What I liked about this film a lot was that it had a great mix of comedy in as well, but this movie is really more of a horror comedy. The comedy sits in the passenger seat in this film. So if you think your gonna get like a Zombieland where it is mostly funny and not much scares. You won't get that. This film had a great tone. It was a very dark film. Scenes that take place at night are just really dark and very well shot. One scene in participatory in the car chase scene where it looks like one shot. Colin Farrell was by far the best actor in the film. He did a great job. When he is on screen he would steal the show. Parts where he is talking about how long he has lived and just powerful he is just took my breath away. The 3d was very well done. They did a good job at of both giving you depth to the film and stuff popping out at you. Parts that i really didn't like about the film was comedy of the film. In some scenes and lines that were meant to be funny were funny but not like rolling around on the ground funny.  Also the character of the fake vampire killer i didn't really enjoy he  kinda pissed me off and he is very one sided. Even thought it has some small faults it is a very good film. great scares and descent laughs a perfect date movie in my opinion and if you like 3d it is worth the extra dollar.
